You can either dump your disc to a folder of your choice to edit it further or you can use dumphd in commandline mode to stream the movie directly to your media player (might give performance issues - since there are no drivers yet to support GPU based decoding). So then you can start dumpHD (use the shell-script for gui mode).

You can find keys for HD and BluRay media in the doom9 forums (won't link there for legal reasons, but it should be fairly easy to find anyway). If you skipped step one and two edit the file keydb.cfg where all known keys are stored. If you followed step one and two make sure that the AACSkeys library files and the ProcessingDeviceKeysSimple.txt is in the dumpHD folder.

Since its in java you dont need to install it. Put additional/newer keys into this file, if needed.ģ) Download and extract dumpHD into a folder of your choice. Newer keys can be found on the internet (the doom9 forums are the place to go, or look here). There are different MKB Version and each has its own key. It contains the processing keys needed to decrypt the media. There also is a file named ProcessingDeviceKeysSimple.txt.

It contains the program for both 32 and 64 bit and a library file that can be used with dumpHD directly - no need to run AACS manually any more, just put the. It should work with wine, so no Win is necessary.Ģ) Download AACSkeys and extract into a folder of your choice. Chances are great that it won't work then.ġ) Patch your drive with the AACS patch linked above. On the mounted disc look for a BDSVM directory to verify if is a BD+ disc. Also you'll need the VUK if your drive is not patched.įirst of all you should mount your BD drive Make sure you can see the files, otherwise check your kernel version and configuration (File Systems -> UDF). Note: You can skip point one and two if you already have the VolumeUniqueKey (VUK) of the disc you want to dump/watch. It takes some time until the latest MKB version keys are out. This also works quite fine in streaming mode.įor the newest discs check the doom9 forums. More info about the newest dumpHD release here. Please notice that it won't work for all discs. Your kernel should be version 2.6.25 and higher for UDF 2.5 support, else you won't be able to read the disc's filesystem.īD+ can now be automatically decoded using dumpHD. Or instead of the first two points: The VolumeUniqueKey (VUK) of the disc you want to play

If you do a search, I believe instructions on how to do this correctly are on this site somewhere. You just need to look in the right place for the files when opening them in DVD Audio Extractor. You don't need to do anything at all to divide tracks using MakeMKV + DVD Audio Extractor. It takes more like 5 minutes for me to then rip the decrypted hi-rez files for an entire LP to hi-rez stereo FLAC with DVD Audio Extractor.

But once the blu-ray has been decypted, it shouldn't be taking an additional hour for DVD Audio extractor to do its work. MakeMKV takes a while to decrypt a blu-ray (maybe a half hour to an hour IIRC depending on resolution and amount of content on the disc). I just keep the page bookmarked and copy & paste when asked for the key. The key is like 40 letters and numbers, so I'm not sure if it actually changes or you just have to simply re-enter the same key again. It's a sticky in the news and announcements of the discussion board on the MakeMKV site.

AFAIK it's continuously in beta but you need to re-enter the key periodically to update to the current beta version. Click to expand. You're making this far more complicated than it is and/or you're doing it incorrectly.
